Navigating between the Rhythms is the first workshop series I start teaching in Sydney and Online. Everybody is invited to participate regardless of dancing or somatic education previous experience.

We explored different elements and tools based on somatic education. The starting point is your body, how you feel and sense yourself.

Paying attention to your Breathing, your primary font of energy, combined with the awareness of how you use yourself.

For this instance, I will guide the group through Awareness Through Movement® lessons, (Moshé Feldenkrais legacy).

We explored the different possibilities of movement, sensing and feeling the body, stabilising connections, feeling and connecting with the ground, recognising what is available and what is not, and from there create your own dance.

Exploring the different qualities of movement, directions and how to use the space.

We’ll navigate between the 3 constants of the Body Expression Dance (Patricia Stokoe legacy):

Body awareness,
Creativity,
Communication.

Body

We use somatic education strategies. The  Feldenkrais® Method Awareness Through Movement lessons to explore and connect with awareness with your body. Your instrument.

Notions of space, internal, personal and surroundings. The body intended as space and moving in space. Orientation in Space.

Quality of movements, motion explorations in different directions, use of the space and body.

Creativity

I provide a safe and friendly environment to allow the participants to feel free to combine, evoque and recreate their own movements.

After the movement explorations, you'll have more options to combine and create your own combinations, play with different ideas and surprise yourself by enjoying your movement from new perspectives and novelties.

Communication

In the group movement researches, the communication is implicit. at many level . With oneself and with the others: in duets, threesome and mini-groups, all together in a circle.

The acknowledgement of the other sharing the same space boosts creativity in the joyful environment of play and joy.

Imitation, contrasts, the observer and the player. Exploring different level of contact: Visual, listening, feeling and touching. Feeling the connectivity with others througth the movement and play.

Students feedbacks

I was so glad to have joined the gathering last night. The pacing of your ATM was just made for me!! An absolute luxury. Time to explore, time to invent ways to explore...very special

And I appreciated your signature blend with Body Expression- Dance -  such a change in my ability to feel my movement, to move in a more connected way - I can see the possibilities for me – to find great joy in creative movement …

Helen Lane, Feldenkrais Practitioner

' I feel grateful for the experience of Silvias Feldenkrais and Body-Expression education. I've identified seriously as a physical mover for almost 25 years and consistently seek out avenues into further relationship with my body. Silvias work is an exciting new threshold for me

Can't wait for more. Thank you, Silvia!’

Anson D'anson, Dancer

Thank you Silvi, for the most incredible journey today into the graceful expression of my own body, with the essence of my own self in dancing. The freedom and joy I found in the rhythm of my own aesthetic experience was enhanced by the sensation of spaciousness in my body after the movement explorations.

Libby.

It was a wonderfu opportunity to explore how I can use my body awareness to better access dance rhythm. I have tried different types of dancing but always felt I am not a "natural" at dancing. You have shown me that it is not so difficult to improve this.
